Many thanks to the nearly 50 riders who showed up for Peanut Roll XIV, including about a dozen first-timers, and to The Rock Kitchen and Bar for hosting our afterparty. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fall day to celebrate our advocacy to #finishthetrail.
Since 2018 we have organized these group rides to raise awareness for the Peanut Line project, and to bring folks out to discover this beautiful Town of Amherst asset. Over 80% of respondents to a 2018 Planning Board survey named “access to greenspace” as a top priority. Laying down 10″ of pavement on this 100′ wide railed will provide convenient access to greenspace for people of all abilities and a safe and protected pathway for walking, jogging and biking for recreation, wellness and commuting.
Please write to Councilmember Jacqualine Berger with your support for the project. Whether you are an Amherst resident or reside in a neighboring town that would enjoy connectedness from Buffalo and Niagara Falls to Clarence and Akron, the council needs to hear from you to help move this project forward.
